Sunshine is a person-centred organisation – and this applies not only to the people we support, but also in our approach to the people we employ.
Our aim is to create and maintain a workplace that promotes unconditional positive regard, valuing each individual and their contribution. We also strive to support each person’s strengths and development.
Embedding person-centredness as a guiding principle is an organisation-wide endeavour. It is manifested in our focus on team building, leadership coaching, ongoing training, and our review of all policies and procedures.
In building person-centredness into our recruitment and employment practices, we seek to create a working environment that’s unified with our core purpose, and that promotes everyone’s ability to live a great life.
In a staff survey conducted in 2013, Sunshine scored higher in employee satisfaction than both the sector average (that is, other disability service providers) and the general workforce. The areas of particular satisfaction were: role clarity; diversity, job satisfaction; organisation direction and safety. The survey yielded responses from 189 of our employees, which represents about 45% of our workforce.
We are always interested to hear from people who share our values of integrity, collaboration, conviction & generosity.
